I first worked with Marge on the National tour of Hormonal Housewives starring Vicki Michelle. I was the Associate Producer on the show and when piecing together the creative team Marge had been recommended to me. After a quick chat on the phone I knew straight away I wanted her onboard and she was hired as Wardrobe Supervisor for the production. Marge was tasked with creating and building the whole wardrobe for the production. This included sourcing and purchasing off the peg items as well as designing and building bespoke costumes for the cast. As a relative newcomer to the world of theatre production I was so impressed with how she quickly became a valued member of the company and was intrinsic to the artistic success of this production. Nothing phased her, efficiently meeting deadlines whilst adapting designs to meet the ever evolving artistic vision for the production. She had an exceptional talent for working with the artistes and making them secure as well as working alongside the Director and Producers. As Marge had been such a success on the Spring tour of Hormonal Housewives she was booked without hesitation onto the Autumn tour starring Suzanne Shaw.
After her success on Hormonal Housewives she was the obvious choice to be Wardrobe Supervisor on the world premiere of the musical comedy Girls Just Wanna Have Fun which was a much larger production presenting a far more ambitious design brief. The show had a high profile cast including Maureen Nolan, Jess Wright and Olivier Award winner Leanne Jones. Marge’s excellent eye for design and detail coupled with her superb communication skills yet again proved her to be an invaluable member of the creative team and yet again intrinsic to the artistic success of this show. I look forward to the next opportunity to collaborate creatively with her.
